phipps - tripodding

Phipps Conservatory allows members to photograph with a tripod on Sunday mornings. This set of photographs was taken on January 25, 2009.

Most of the shots were done with a micro lense - Nikkor 105mm.

The Conservantory is finishing its Winter/Christmas show and getting ready for Spring/Easter. Few plants have any flowers at this time, but it was interesting to find color in the desert and tropical environmnets. The calla lilies were a great surprise.

Two of the images are of plants with no flowers. However, the foilage was such that it can pass for flower especially when the plant is shot tightly. The two images of the white pointsettia are there because of the water-drop on one and the green stamens on the other. (The thumbnail points to the large image.)
