Feast of San Rocco - Rosary During Procession

On Monday, August 10 a group went up to the chapel of San Rocco to prepare for the procession that would bring the statue of the Saint down to the main church in Guarno.
The lay-minister led the procession and the recital of the rosary.

San Rocco is the patron saint of Aprigliano.

The feast-day of San Rocco is August 16.

Seven days prior to the feast day, the statue of the saint is taken down to Guarno.

A group goes up to the San Rocco chapel and prepare the statue to take it in procession down to Guarno.

When the procession arrives at La Chiesa di Santa Maria Laurentana in Guarno a mass is celebrated.

The mass opens the seven day prayer period.

Through out the seven day, the people of Aprigliano collect donations and gifts that will be distributed to the poor.
